Grasping the Concept - Photosynthesis and Cellular Respiration
Grasping the Concept
- Trace both of your hands on your paper as shown above
- In the palm area of your left hand write Photosynthesis and make a simple, multi colored sketch representing it
- On each digit, write a vocabulary term, minor concept, figure, event, or equation related to the topic on the palm
- At the end of each digit include a simple multi colored sketch representing what is on the digit
- The thumb opposes the other digits, so the thumb should have a related but somewhat opposite or different slant than the other digits
- Below the hand write a paragraph that explains how all of the parts of the hand relate to photosynthesis.
- Repeat the process for the right hand with the topic of cellular respiration
Yeast Summative Lab
Each flask contained 100 ml of water, measured with a graduated cylinder, and 2 grams of yeast. One flask also had 10 grams of sugar added to the flask. Both were allowed to sit and be kept warm until a reaction could occur. These photos are the "after" photos. When set up both flasks looked like the flask without sugar.
Data:
Starting mass with sugar = 226 g, ending mass with sugar = 225 g
Starting mass without sugar = 198 g, ending mass without sugar = 198 g
This is the lab set up with the flask without sugar on the scale
